The new St Jude Church is essentially finished!
Fr Francis is already celebrating masses, baptisms, and even funerals in the new St Jude Church.
Status of the finishing touches:
• The painter has finished the Stations of the Cross and the Altar painting. Next, he is going to paint a beautiful scene around the Cross on the front wall.
• The pews are expected to be installed in early February.
• Dedication Ceremonies are being planned for mid-late February – very probably before Lent begins.
It would be great to have a representative from the US to be present during the dedication to honor the memory of Laura Gillett, however, logistics seem likely to deter that outcome.
Father Francis says the villagers are so excited about the new church and that it is already reviving their faith beautifully. He is expecting the parish to flourish and grow strong.
The gratitude of the villagers to the Gillett family and all of us is immense – so heartwarming!
Father Francis is hoping to build classrooms for a school in this location once funding is in place.
