Uganda Martyrs Church

The Uganda Martyrs Church will be a very large facility, especially compared to our recently constructed Mission churches; St Jude and Assumption of the Blesed Virgin Mary . The height of this building allows for a choir loft and auxiliary. It is expected to have a capacity at least 2-3 times as the other churches.
The location of the Ugandan Martyrs Church will be in Kitegomba, Fr Francis’ hometown. It is adjacent to the clinic (St Edmund & Josephine) which was constructed in honor of Jim and Gail Hepp’s Family relatives and which has proven to be an amazing source of health care resources serving many villages surrounding Kitegomba.
Primary School Extension

Above is a picture of the Uganda Martyrs primary school in Kitegomba. The school is a short distance from the planned Ugandan Martyrs Church. The addition to this primary school will extend the learning capabilities from its current Pre-school through 1st grade to accommodate grades through 7th and 8th. The number of students we are expecting to be able to educate will be an extraordinary increase. Also, this extension will include a dormitory which is already a great need in the Kitegomba village.
For example a young student currently who has to walk 5 miles (one way) to go to school each day would be able to stay in the dormitory and have a much better opportunity of safely attending classes regularly. There are many instances like this one where the children want to be able to come to school, but their home-life situations prohibit it.
The projected dormitory addition will likely have 2-3 floors at one end which would house the children and guardians. The school would be attached but would extend as a single floor structure.
St. Kizito Nkookooma Classroom Block Renovation

Cardinal Wamala High School Renovations
[coming soon – High School pic here] The renovations of the high school are planned to include plastering walls that are currently a compilation of wood/mud and brick pieces. The roof replacement is also necessary. Even though these secondary type of schools are not as fully attended as the grade schools, the conditions for learning needs improvement. The education provided at this level is critical in promoting quality lifestyles. Encouraging teens to work toward improving their living conditions through extended education is more easily accomplished with conducive classrooms.Tuition Assistance Fund
Currently there are about 10-15 kids that are living in circumstances where their parents cannot afford to pay tuition for their education. Fr Francis would like to be able to assist these families with a program that will allow them the opportunity for an education.
